SUNDAY SCHOOL PROGRAMS

Join us for Fun and Learning!

The Sunday School hour begins at 9am with gathering Time and Fellowship in the OFLC.

Our Children and Youth Sunday School programs are divided into three age groups:

·        Children- Pre-K- 4th grade

·        Middle School-5th-8th grade

·        Youth- 9th grade and up

On most Sundays, the groups meet separately. However, they are occasionally brought together for service projects and special holiday activities.

What is our Sunday School Like?

Teaching Curriculum

The Children’s Sunday School program at Level Creek uses a rotation format curriculum.  In this setting, the same Bible story or theme is taught for about 6 weeks. The children “rotate” to a different station each week that is led by one of the leaders from the teaching team.  The story remains the same, but children experience it in different ways.

Rotational learning is exciting for both the students and teachers, and the variety of experiences keeps interest high in Sunday School.  Before each unit, the teaching team plans the activities, to determine which of the following stations best fit the unit:

 Rotation Stations:

·        Art

·        Computer

·        Cooking (a favorite!)

·        Games

·        Music/Movement

·        Science

·        Storytelling

·        Movie theatre

·        Scrap booking (a favorite!)

·        Service project

Special Activities

Here at Level Creek, we love holidays and special celebrations.  Sunday School activities are enhanced with crafts, music programs, and service projects that tie into the holidays or special times of the year.

Some fun projects our children have enjoyed:

?       Making Valentine candy for the assisted living center residents

?       Dressing Teddy Bears for the children’s shelter

?       Donating scrapbooks to Level Creek

?       Hosting a “Social Hour” for the church family on Youth Sunday

 Upcoming Events

Below are the upcoming events planned for the Children and Youth at Level Creek:

Noah's Ark Theme for Winter Quarter '08

Other Programs for 2008 will focus on the Bible:

?       How the Bible Came to Be

?       Bible Boot Camp

?       Bible Olympics (Spring/Summer ‘08)

Whether a member of Level Creek United Methodist church or simply a member of the community, all are welcome to participate in any of our programs.
